CX-230 Standard Magnetic Particle Inspection Test Piece QQI
Material and structure:
Usually made of AISI 1005 low-carbon steel, the thickness is generally 0.002 inches (about 0.05 mm) or 0.004 inches (about 0.1 mm). The test pieces are engraved with specific patterns through photolithography, such as concentric circles or crosses, etc. The common size is 3/4 square inches, and smaller-sized test pieces are also available for selection.

Usage method:
Before use, the corrosion-resistant protective film on QQI needs to be removed first. Face the QQI artificial defect surface towards the part surface, fix it only by covering the edge with transparent tape, or use permanent adhesives such as cyanoacrylate to stick it. Ensure that the test piece is in close contact with the part surface without any gap or loose area, and there should be no residual adhesive on the external inspection surface. After magnetizing the parts and applying magnetic powder, if the magnetic powder adheres to the etching pattern, it indicates that the magnetic field intensity is sufficient and the direction is correct.

The manufacturing of QQI strictly complies with the requirements of AISI 1005 low-carbon steel applicable in the AMS standard. At the same time, it follows the SAE aerospace standard AS 5371, and also conforms to the relevant provisions of ASTM E1444-05 and ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Vol. V, Part 7.
